Another Goodbye

I met a little country boy
In a little country town
He had little country boots
And a hat that he pulled down

He was tall, he was thick
He was sly and he was slick
And he had me there
But soon I had to go
And I didn't think I’d care

Chorus
There we were
Just another goodbye
But it felt good to cry
Yeah that’s for sure
There we were
I’m not gonna die
But it feels good to cry
Yeah afterwards

I met a big bad business man
In a place uptown
And I watched his eyes
As this guy looked me up and down

We plans we would meet
In a little place I knew that night
We met up, hooked it up
Right before he caught his flight

Chorus
But there we were
Just another goodbye
But it felt good to cry
Yeah that’s for sure
There we were
I’m not gonna die
But it feels good to cry
Yeah afterwards

There we were
Life ain't over yet
I have no regrets
Yeah that’s for sure
There we were
Just another goodbye
But I’m sure I’ll survive
Yeah afterwards

I wrote this song a long time ago about a friend  of mine who... shall we say... had a lot of fun?  I was watching old episodes of the original 90210 the other night and this woman in there said that in one culture woman would have 3 great loves in their life time.   One for fun when you are younger, one to have children with, and one to grow old with.  It struck me that I've had two great loves in my life... the first when I was young and It was about fun and passion.  The second; the father of my children.... I guess I need find my someone to grow old with...   I'm ready... I'm excited and looking forward to everything the futures brings... but this song does strike a cord... because yes... even though your ready, sometimes it really does feel good to cry.
