Drawn to the river

But I couldn’t go in

Drawn to the river

Where my chances were slim

Drawn to the river

But afraid I would drown

Drawn to the river

But I couldn’t go down

Drawn to the river

But I could not go in

The water beckoned me

But I couldn’t swim
